ability to use pods is wonderful if you are in a hurry or you just don't have the inclination to grind your own!
Engineered and designed in Italy, the DeLonghi EC155 Espresso Maker has two separate thermostats giving the ability to control both the water and steam pressure. The folks who have reviewed this espresso maker are generally a very contented bunch. Most people are delighted with the quality of the coffee produced and how easy it is to use. The machine is also pretty compact, not taking up too much room on the counter. And the fact that it's pleasing on the eye is a great plus point as well.
For the price, the DeLonghi EC155 Espresso Maker seems to have a whole bunch of happy customers. People are happy with the speed in which it heats up; you can be brewing coffee within about a minute or so of hitting the on switch. Plus the decent sized water reservoir means you can serve up 8-10 espresso shots before you need to refill.
When you consider the price of the average espresso or cappuccino at Starbucks or your local coffee house, the price of the DeLonghi EC155 Espresso Maker makes buying one of these espresso machines a bit of a no-brainer. If you use a medium range coffee then the machine will pay for itself after around 35 cups, and you can't ask for much more than that.
Okay, there always has to be some negative points to any espresso machine, but with the DeLonghi EC155 it seems there aren't too many. There's no cup warmer, which isn't really that big a deal, and the included tamper is frankly, crap; so do yourself a favor and invest in a decent one. The frothing wand, although it produces great froth, is too close to the counter. But it seems people have got around this by purchasing a small sized frothing cup which slides neatly underneath.
The other main gripe is that you don't get a nice dry 'puck' of used coffee grounds. This means the clean-up process can be a little messy. But all in all, the general consensus for the DeLonghi EC155 Espresso Maker is that its great value produces a top cup of coffee and is well worth spending your money on. The only downside is that having such a great machine sitting in your kitchen means that your caffeine intake is sure to increase. Enjoy……
